A Legacy of Service and Sisterhood

In 1955, the Monroe community witnessed a transformative moment when 12 dedicated women, united by the Delta spirit, gathered at the home of Soror Arnetta Pierce Winters to charter a new chapter. Their commitment and vision led to the establishment of a graduate chapter, Epsilon Iota Sigma, on March 25, 1955. In 1958, the chapter was renamed Monroe Alumnae Chapter, reflecting the nomenclature of the Grand Chapter. The service area was identified as a 35-mile radius around Monroe, including Ouachita, Morehouse, Richland, and Caldwell parishes.

Over the decades, the chapter expanded its reach to include Franklin, Madison, and East and West Carroll parishes. With over 220 initiates and one original charter member still residing in Monroe as of 2023, the chapter continues to embody its founding spirit of sisterhood and community service, uplifting and empowering the communities it serves.
